In The Pink 2023: A Glamorous Fundraiser Supporting The National Cancer Society

November 11, 2023

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our 14th annual fundraising event, “In the Pink,” benefiting the Turks and Caicos National Cancer Society.

This year’s highly anticipated event, held at The Palms Resort, raised an impressive $75,000 for this crucial cause. The event, which revolved around a glamorous Barbie theme, enthralled attendees with a series of engaging activities such as Shopping Frenzies, Pink Poker, and a vibrant pink-infused after party.

In the face of adversity, the National Cancer Society has been relentless in its mission to offer support to patients and their families, and fund vital needs. To aid their noble cause, “In the Pink” emerged as a signature annual event that successfully combines philanthropy and entertainment, attracting a diverse community of individuals dedicated to making a difference.

The picturesque Palms Resort set the perfect backdrop for this year’s annual “In the Pink” event. The resort offers the perfect environment where guests come together to unite against cancer. Held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, the event showcased the indomitable spirit of collaboration, empowering attendees to contribute their time, resources, and limitless enthusiasm.

The Pink event is flawlessly organized and executed by an all-volunteer committee led by Karen Whitt, Honourable Josephine Connolly, National Cancer Society, Ronnie Rigby, Ronnie Been, Shanta Narinesingh, Courtney Miller, Monica Uttamchandani, Foluso Ladejobi, Yadviga Dzieduszynska, Jenny Capili, and the entire team at The Palms Resort.

The festivities commenced with an exclusive shopping experience, allowing attendees to explore luxurious donated fashion items and one-of-a-kind accessories, with 100% of each sale directly benefiting the National Cancer Society. Guests immersed themselves in a world of Pink style and elegance while extending their philanthropic reach.

As the shopping extravaganza rocked, the Palms Ballroom featured the popular Pink poker tournament sponsored by CasaBlanca Casino. Attendees competed not only for ultimate bragging rights but also for the chance to support those living with cancer. As the excitement reached its peak and fortunes were won and lost, the atmosphere remained filled with cheers, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to the cause.

In true Barbie fashion, the event culminated in an unforgettable Pink after party. The venue was transformed into a glamorous Barbie oasis, dripping in all shades of pink, where guests danced the night away in solidarity. Live music by Prime DJ’s, delectable, pink-themed cuisine by Parallel23, and enchanting decor curated by Yadviga Dzieduszynska created an immersive experience that celebrated life, unity, and resilience.

Thanks to the exceptional generosity of our attendees and sponsors, “In the Pink” raised $75,000 this year. This remarkable achievement will directly benefit the National Cancer Society’s ongoing initiatives, including patient support programs, and awareness campaigns to educate communities in Turks and Caicos Islands.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who wholeheartedly supported “In the Pink.” Major sponsors The Hartling Group, The Palms, Jai’s, Sotheby’s and CasaBlanca Casino make the event possible, and we extend heartfelt appreciation to all the wonderful volunteers and silent auction contributors, it is through their collective efforts and unwavering commitment that this event continues to flourish year after year.

2024 will mark a 15-year celebration of this annual event on Saturday, October 12, and promises to be the biggest and  best ever!
